We are excited that both of these new
trends are planned to continue in to the
2015 race season.
In an attempt to reunite our district,
the power boaters have made a
connection with our district Combat
boaters. We have been sharing events
and sites helping make the pond
available to them for their Combat
events.
In addition to this, we ran FE
exhibition classes in 2014 and have
plans to run four classes of FE in 2015.
This of course has that effect of FE
boaters building and racing fuel boats
and fuel boaters racing FE boats. More
great relationships will build as a result
of this.
There has been resurgence recently in
the nitro classes. District Nine member
Bob Tuttle has returned to racing
resurrecting the Sport 21 class including
the construction of a number of his boats
available for racing.
Our new rules officer, Ture A.
Roslund Jr. who is my father, has been
working on transforming our district
rules into a more workable structure.
Similar to the structure of the NAMBA
rule book. At our last district meeting, it
was overwhelmingly approved that
going forward there would be a better
understanding of our rules for the
district.
The RC Modeleers, a smaller club
who will be hosting the 2015 NAMBA
Nationals, has been working for a
number of years to make Lake Minden a
better place to race. It has been fortunate
that our district has had a back up pond
such as Lake Minden as Kaiser Cove in
Fremont was not very usable in 2014 due
to maintenance, drought, and other
issues.
Our 2015 plans are to have a race at
Seaside, California which was used in
the early nineties. In the future there is
an effort to make Dixon a pond that will
be able to host races which would give
us a fourth race site. Additional sites are
always being researched.
So now it is now off to a fun year of
racing in 2015.

2015 Hall of Fame Nominations Deadline
By Jerry Dunlap
NAMBA Hall of Fame Chairman
Nominations for the NAMBA Hall of Fame must be received by May 14. The
nomination form is available on the NAMBA web site by clicking on the Hall of
Fame. The NAMBA member submitting the nomination form must be an adult
NAMBA member for at least five years. The individual being nominated must be a
present or past member of NAMBA for at least ten years. The NAMBA Hall of Fame
is recognition of an individual’s contributions to NAMBA at the local, district, and
national level.
As NAMBA’s Hall of Fame Chairman, I have received e-mails suggesting
NAMBA members be included in the Hall of Fame. Prior to assuming the Chairman’s
position, I nominated eight members in to the Hall of Fame. However, as the
Chairman my responsibility is forwarding the nomination forms submitted prior to the
deadline to all current NAMBA Hall of Fame members. Hall of Fame members then
vote to select the individual for inclusion into the Hall of Fame.
There are deserving members of NAMBA who should be in our Hall of Fame. I
have done my job by informing members of the deadline and how to access the
nomination form.
News From District 9
By Ted Roslund
Assistant District 9 Director
The 2014 racing season is behind us and
there are good highlights to report. Our new
District Director Bo Garidel took office with
a commitment to return the district to a
family environment. He took a no tolerance
approach to unsportsmanlike behavior and
unacceptable language that was well
received. In addition to this, all races that
were held at Lake Minden in Nicolaus,
California held a pot luck gathering
Saturday evenings hosted by the Peterson
family. It was a great opportunity to
redevelop our relationships with our fellow
boaters outside of the driver's stand and pit
areas.
