race having more racers than the race
before it.
At past races we had interested
people attend from Japan, Canada,
Puerto Rico, and Germany. They were
able to observe what we were doing and
some went on to start their own clubs
with fast electric power systems.

News in District One
By Dennis Probst Jr
NAMBA District One Director
Hello to all from District One.
It’s nice to be able to say hi to all
the NAMBA members at once. I
wish I could travel across the
United States to see all the
NAMBA races in person. But for
now, I can only keep up with
District One races. At the time of
writing this, there was 24 plus
inches of snow outside my house!
Up in the northeast we do not
take our summer months for
granted. I am not ripping you west
coast guys and girls but really,
how many of you want to come to
New Jersey or as us locals say
Jersey to go on vacation!
Speaking of vacation, my trophy guy just increased his budget based on the 2015
awards which are shown above. The banquet is a great time to get everyone together
and have some fun. The best part is we get racers and family in one place with not a
single wrecked boat. Some bent forks along the way but no family get together is
perfect. I am happy to say that District One is picking up a few new members here and
there. But even with that, it would really be nice to see some of the guys who have not
been out in a while. I know from my own experience that when you leave one hobby
and replace it with something else, it is hard to make time for both.
Please make time and come out and support some of our fast young racers. If
nothing other than to say that I could do that. It’s fun and rewarding to serve as the
director for District One. I am proud of all the members from the clubs to the Contest
Directors and everyone who is involved. It means a lot to work for such nice people. I
hope everyone is having a great new year and as we start our 2016 season, I pray for
everyone’s safety. Have a great 2016 season and I will see you at the lake.
