If you’ve never been to a NAMBA Nationals, you are missing out on an experience unlike any that you’ll find in RC boat racing. The 2023 Nationals will be in Huntsville Alabama and there are special things planned for that event as well. Even if you fly in for a few days and bring a couple of boats with you, ship boats ahead, or find a ride for them with somebody else; don’t worry about not having all your equipment with you. The NAMBA family will be ready to help give you support so you can run your boats and experience what a Nationals is all about and probably make some new friends and great memories while you do. It was so nice racing right in the middle of town with the host hotel only a short walk away. The Monterey area had some great restaurants, shopping and attractions to keep the wife happy. The host hotel had a large bar table to host the NAMBA gang's evening bench racing sessions. It was so nice to sit out in front of the host hotel's beach area. Adirondack chairs, outdoor fireplace tables and waves crashing on the beach were great to unwind after a day of racing. My best memory was finally winning a NAMBA National Championship and getting a surprise high point trophy to boot! More new friendships were forged with the out West racers. The District 9 folks did a great job putting on a memorable event! It's a long way from Detroit, but the next time they want to hold a Nationals in Seaside, I will make the trip! The handmade, sturdy as a rock, earthquake and Sunami proof drivers stand was a structure like no other The NAMBA traditional and always a blast BBQ Paddleboat races had entrants lining up. Congratulations go to Tracy Osborne from District 19 who won with a flatbottom stock paddleboat running against the tunnel designed paddleboats Glen Mattos (left) from Las Vegas hanging with FE Champion Bob Zola (right). Bob was happy and Glen happy for him
