PROPWASH October 2021 23 2021 NAMBA Elections For The Term 2022-2023 NAMBA District 3 Director Hello, my name is Eric Canto. I am 52 years old and live in Gainesville, FL. I am married to my wife Kelly and we have five children. Kelly and I own a real estate investment company called Integrity Homes and Lending. I have been an R/C boater for 35 years and Kelly is an active boater as well. I owned and operated a HobbyTown USA for 10 years in Gainesville. I was also the president of a board that was responsible for the creation an R/C park inside an existing city park. As such, I created and presented plans for the park to the city that led to them granting us the space and land to build the R/C park. My 35 years of boating, 10 years of owning and operating HobbyTown, and years as the president of the board of the Newberry R/C park have provided me with skills and experience that I believe will be beneficial to District 3. I have been self employed since I was 19 years old and have employed as many as 52 people at once. I have extensive training in team building and I think that is currently needed in our district. I will work to foster cooperation and healthy relationships between the clubs in the district. I will work to help bring a sense of family fun, sportsmanship, and fair competition to our events. I will work to increase our numbers with like minded people. Thank you for considering me for the office of D3 director. NAMBA District 3 Director Hello fellow racers, I have been playing with RC boats since 1992. I started with nitro running at local retention ponds around the Orlando area and switched over to gas boats around 2002. I joined the Orlando Culvert Dodgers around 2004 and started racing in late 2005. I was elected president of OCD in 2009 where for 3 years we hosted the 3 largest Winter Nationals in the history of the club. I have been District 3 Director for the last 4 years and I am running again for 2022-2023. Under my direction we have added several FE and gas classes to our district races. I also introduced the District 3 "members only" forum where our members can have general discussions as well as submit proposals for rule changes, new classes and are able to vote on these items. We have increased our membership every year and we are the largest district in NAMBA for 2021. I look forward to serving another 2 years as District 3 Director. NAMBA District 5 Director Hello, my name is Mark Grim, I am running for the position of NAMBA District 5 Director for the term years 2022 and 2023. I hold the NAMBA offices of: NAMBA District 5 Director NAMBA Records Chairman NAMBA Nitro Chairman I have lived in Harvest Alabama for the last 5 years and have been a NAMBA member consistently since 1982. In my 39 years as a NAMBA member I’ve also served as Assistant District 19 Director in 2000 and 2001 under Doug DeWitt, NAMBA Record Chairman from 2004 through present, District 19 Director for 2006 and 2007, NAMBA Vice President from 2008 through 2011 and 2016 and 2017. Contest Director for the Amigos Race Team over several years, guest Contest Director for numerous clubs, and I participated on the Nationals Committee several times. District 5 has grown by 19 members in the last 2 years and to grow the district we now have a District website, District Chairpersons, and a District Bank Account. When I first took office in 2020, we started the district with nothing. Our District thru the pandemic has been able to hold races in 2021 and I plan to have 1 District 5 race a year and to continue to grow the district. I would like to thank all my chairpersons who have helped me in the last 2 years, and I hope to continue for this next term.
