2021 NAMBA Elections For The Term 2022-2023 NAMBA President and NAMBA District 19 Director Richard Romero My name is Richard Romero, and I am running for re-election as NAMBA District 19 Director and the position of NAMBA President. I have been a NAMBA member since 1997 mainly racing along west coast. I have spent three terms as the District 19 Director and the past two terms as your NAMBA Vice President. As we all know Covid has greatly impacted our hobby, my district was almost completely shut down for the 2020-2021 racing seasons, like many across the country. I have high expectations for our 2022-2023 racing seasons, to include a full race schedule and the addition of a new race site. My focus at both levels will continue to be membership growth and marketing our hobby via social media and local level and national level programs. We as an organization need to continue to re-brand our image for the future generations and I’m confident with the help of our Members, Chairpersons and Officers we can and will be success- ful. It was an honor to work alongside Mr. Alan Hobbs for these past two terms as your Vice Presi- dent. I learned many things about our organization and how it operates. I feel confident with what I’ve learned and the great people that surround me we can continue to keep NAMBA strong and moving forward. Thank you for your consideration. NAMBAVice President Chris Wittrig My name is Chris Wittrig, and I am running for NAMBA Vice President for the 2022-2023 term. I have been a member of NAMBA for 25 years having first started in District 19 and later lived and raced in District 3, District 1, District 9, and soon District 5. For 10 years I served the NAMBA membership as the Webmaster of NAMBA.com, spent a term as the NAMBA Outboard Chairman, was the Assistant District 9 Director, and am finishing up my 2nd term as District 9 Director. Over the past four years I’ve had a chance to work with the members of District 9 finding new ways to generate membership and fostering an environment that brings young participants, our future, into the hobby. If elected, I look forward to using those same experiences working alongside the incoming President and your District Directors to provide the best possible experience the NAMBA membership and build the knowledge and tools necessary to continue gaining members and positioning NAMBA for the future. Thank you for your consideration. NAMBAVice President Karl Loveless My name is Karl Loveless, I am a devoted husband, father, and friend. I have decided to run for the office of NAMBA Vice President for the 2022-2023 term. I have been a member of NAMBA since 2007 and previously served as District 20 Director for two terms, Co-Contest Director for two Nationals and various local Utah club leadership positions. My love for boat racing runs deep, dating back to the early 80’s when I grew up watching my father racing Flatbottom Sprint Boats. I had the honor of driving for my father’s race team for almost 12 years with APBA. During that period, I gained valuable experiences that helped shaped who I am as a competitor and leader. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work closely with past APBA, IMPBA and NAMBA Leaders. I have been surrounded by a tremendous group of model boaters with whom I have collaborated and whose experience I continually trust and draw on. I ask for your vote to be your next NAMBA Vice President. I want to use my years of experience to bring peo- ple together and increase membership. My focus and dedication have always been to support clubs and districts across the country to further the growth our great hobby. I would like to take that next step and work in close partnership with your President, District Directors, and Executive Secretary to facilitate the continued building, improving and growth. I would like to focus on several key areas that I believe would help to draw new boaters. • A Race Management System that all members would have access to. • Expanded NAMBA support for Club/District willing to host future NAMBA Nationals. • Expanded NAMBA membership benefits. • Continue the support of streamlining the Rule Book so that is best represents the ongoing growth and technology changes. I have had the pleasure of meeting so many of you over the years at various events and look forward to meeting many more. I ask you all to vote and let you voice be heard for NAMBA leadership. I would be honored to have your vote for NAMBA Vice President. Voting will commence October 1 (or sooner) and run through October 25. If you are not notified by e-mail from the NAMBA Membership Portal, contact the NAMBA office. All members can vote for the President and Vice President. Only district members can vote for their own District Director (odd numbered districts). PLEASE VOTE!
