I met Russ once at the NAMBA Nationals in the early 2000’s at Legg Lake, S. El Monte, California. A real genuine guy. He was one of the original’s in starting NAMBA in the early seventies. An avid racer of outboard tunnels and the first NAMBA District 9 Director which covered all the way down to Southern California as there was no District 19 at the time. Russ was the last of the Life Time Members in NAMBA. Thank you Russ for laying the ground work and everything you did for us. Remembering Those Who Passed By Al Waters NAMBA Secretary In the Pacific Northwest there is a club by the name of RCU (Radio Controlled Unlimiteds) that is the hot bed 1/8th Scale Unlimited Hydroplanes in NAMBA. Harry was known more affectionately as “Mr. Budweiser” for his knowledge and relationship with Bernie Little and the famous Miss Budweiser Racing Team. PROPWASH March 2021 29 Russ Kominitsky In October of last year, I received an anonymous envelope from Bakersfield, California with the mailing address sticker from the NAMBA Propwash newsletter. On it was the name and address of Russ Kominitsky. He had been placed in hospice care and was unable to continue reading. Leonard Feeback Leonard was a long time builder of scratch built Scale Unlimited boats from 1/10th scale to Classic Thunderboats and in between. He founded the Southern California Scale Thunderboat Association model boat club in District 19. He was most well known for running Miss Bardahl boats, collecting big boat memorabilia and selling collectibles at the Seattle and San Diego Unlimited Hydroplane Regattas. Leonard along with Roger “The Czar” Newton built the first two Nitro 1/8th Scale Unlimited Hydroplanes racing them at the 1973 NAMBA Nationals in Seattle, Washington. Scale Unlimited was not a developed class as of yet so they raced with the C outrigger hydros of which Leonard won first place. Eldon Bouchie I wish to apologize that I do not have a picture of Eldon. Eldon was a quiet guy who raced in District 19 with most of his time spent at Legg Lake, S. El Monte, California. You could never find a reason to be upset at Eldon. He was liked by everyone. Eldon had his most fun racing the Crackerbox and Classic Thunderboat Classes.
