NAMBA Vice President Richard Romero My name is Richard Romero and I will be running for the office of NAMBA Vice President for the 2018-2019 term. It all started for Richard in 1997 at Archer Lake when he showed up with a Prather Lap Cat that was completely rigged wrong. The guys at the pond took him under their wing, showed him what he needed to fix and sent him on his way. The following weekend when Richard returned the members of the club helped him get his boat running and Richard was hooked. It’s that type camaraderie and sportsmanship that has fueled Richard’s passion for this hobby. Richard has served as the District 19 Director for the past three years and will be running for the position again in 2018- 2019. Richard is also the current V.P of his local club “Tucson Model Boat Club”. In 2012 Richard was awarded the Award of Excellence in District 19. His district will be hosting the 2017 NAMBA Nationals with the help of the amazing people in District 19 and members from across the country. Richard’s greatest strengths are his drive, leadership and his ability handle different personalities. He thrives on chal- lenges and understands change is necessary and will work to see it through. Richard understands the best way to grow this hobby is by sharing that same camaraderie and sportsmanship he was shown over 20 years ago. District 3 Director Wayne Farrow To all boaters in NAMBA District 3,I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Wayne Farrow. I am married to my beau- tiful wife Tammy for 24 years. We have lived in Florida all of our lives. I started out as a play boater in 1990 running nitro boats. In 1996 we started running gas boats. We attended a couple of the Orlando Winter National races as spectators and became members of the Orlando Culvert Dodgers in 2006. I started racing in 2006 and have several District 3 High Points Championships. My wife Tammy started racing in 2007. We are both very passionate about racing and most of all enjoy being around all the great friends we have made over the years. In 2010 I started VenomCCRacing.com selling my own Jersey Skiff, Sport Hydro and Thunderboat along with a few items I designed and manufacture in my shop. I was president of the Orlando Culvert Dodgers for 4 years and enjoyed the task of overseeing the Orlando Winter Na- tionals which is one of the largest races in the country. I also served as District 3 Points Director for 2 years. Tammy was the Secretary for the Orlando Culvert Dodgers for 3 years and also served as District 3 Secretary for 1 year. Well I think that pretty much covers my personal life, interest and involvement in this great hobby. As your District 3 Director, I want to see the enthusiasm of years past returned to all the members in the district. It is time to see all the members more involved and interactive in the running of the district. I know that when all the members are involved we will see the attendance at our races as well as the hobby grow. I am sure there are many members that have ideas and I will make every effort to see that they are put before the whole district for discussion. It is time for District 3 to move into the 21st century. The website will be upgraded so that district 3 members can be interactive and will website will be updated on a regular basis as well as the points being posted in a timely manner. Those of you who know me know that I put my heart and soul into anything I do. I will give no less then 110% as your new director. It is time that we that we all put our differences aside and work together. I am asking for your vote to give me the oppor- tunity to work with all of you! District 7 Director Jerry Wright No Bio submitted District 9 Director Chris Wittrig My name is Chris Wittrig and I am running for NAMBA District 9 Director for the 2018 and 2019 racing seasons. I’ve been a member of NAMBA since I started racing in 1999. At that time I raced in District 19 and later lived and raced in District 3, District 1, and now District 9. For 10 years I served the NAMBA membership as the Webmaster of NAM- BA.com, spent a term as the NAMBA Outboard Chairman, am currently the District 9 Assistant Director, and have been Contest Director for numerous races over the years. If given the opportunity to be District 9 Director, I’d first focus on ensuring the needs of our membership are always represented within the NAMBA Board of Directors. There have been several initiatives started by NAMBA for the benefit of its membership and I want to be sure we are able to convert the time and investment, by way of your dues, into those initiatives to lasting value for our District and clubs. As District Director I’d also focus on ensuring our District operates on a strong fiscal and governance foundation that not only functions to meet the needs of our members during the racing sea- son, but also keeps an eye on future needs and reinvestment. Lastly, I’d want to build upon and facilitate an environment where Members, Chairpersons, and District Officers have a clear seat at the table and insight into in the business of our District. I’ve had a fantastic time over the past three years racing with the great group of people in District 9 and it would be my pleasure and honor to represent you as your next District Director. No matter how you choose to vote, please put in a vote for a person to represent your District and also be sure to vote for your next NAMBA President and Vice President. Thank you for your consideration. District 19 Director Richard Romero Please refer to Vice President bio
