Namba April 2017 Web.pub - page 13

One of the challenges my district has faced is rapid growth across
three states in a short period of time. It is a good problem to have
in most cases, but has also led to some struggles finding the right
balance between the number of races held and in which states. We
all want races in our back yard and for the most part we also want
to feel like we can afford to chase a district championship.
I had some great conversations with some quality people last
season that were instrumental in the creation of “The Rocky
Mountain Shoot-out” which will start this year. This series will
consist of a three race format and a limited number of classes that
will include racers from all three states in our district. Colorado,
Utah, and Wyoming. The idea is to level the playing field and
require the same distance of travel for everyone that wanted to be
involved. We will only be providing first place awards however
all racers that participate in the series will be entered a special
raffle.
The first race will be held in Salt Lake City, Utah in
May. The second race will be held in Casper, Wyoming in August
and the final race will be held in Greeley, Colorado in September
which is also our district finals race. This should make the Fun
Factor go up even higher. You can find more details at
or follow us on Facebook under District 20. I
wish everyone a happy and safe boating season and hope to see
you all at this years NAMBA Nationals in Las Vegas baby!
