Robert was elected NAMBA Vice
President in 2010. While serving as a
District Director and Vice President, he
spearheaded the development of a
NAMBA information brochure detailing
“What is NAMBA” to spectators. He
assumed the position of NAMBA
President in October 2012 and looked to
it's future growth. One of the first
accomplishments was establishing the
process for NAMBA members to renew
their yearly membership online. He also
embraced technology enabling
contestants to enter the 2013 NAMBA
Nats online.
From being a nine year old spectator
at the 1974 Nationals to being the
President of NAMBA, Robert has been
actively committed to the future of
NAMBA. For his accomplishments in
model boating and contributions to
NAMBA, Robert is deserving of
NAMBA's highest award. Induction into
the NAMBA Hall of Fame.

The Michigan Cup 2013
(Continued from page 5)
The High Points Trophy was taken by Mr. Ken Haines of Florida, and Mr.
Offshore went to Fred Siewert of Michigan.
For the first time in the history of the Michigan Cup, which started in 1999, the cup
will be staying in Michigan this year thanks to Mike Ball, Tom Castellani and Fred
Siewert.
This was a great event. A big thanks goes out to MMEU, the Rochester Oakland
Elks Club, and everyone who had a part in this race. From the sponsors to those who
helped put on the race. The weekend would not have been as spectacular without
everyone chipping in.
MMEU will be hosting the upcoming 2014 Namba FE Nationals the last week of
June 2014. Look for more info to come and plan to join us for another great race.
On a personal note, if you are in District Two, part of a club, or just like to run
boats, please give me a call or e-mail me if there is anything I can do to help you out.
MMEU holds monthly races at a local pond in Shelby Township, Michigan. This is a
great way to get an inside peek at everything that goes in this hobby. Even after nearly
ten years of racing, I still learn so much from others and enjoy talking boats with
anyone.
The bottom line is, the racing is great no matter where it is located and always ends
with a little smack talk and a lot of laughs.
Thank you again!

Jerry Dunlap - NAMBA Hall of Fame Chairman
Jim Wilson - NAMBA Hall of Fame Member
Robert Holland, NAMBA President
and Co-Contest Director of the 2013
NAMBA Nationals, was inducted into
the NAMBA Hall of Fame at the
Nationals Awards Banquet in Salt Lake
City, Utah. Past President, Alan Hobbs
introduced Robert as the newest
member of the NAMBA Hall of Fame.
Robert's Hall of Fame recognition
capped a busy week of administering,
racing, and providing positive
encouragement at this year's NAMBA
Nationals.
Robert began racing model boats
with his father Terry, in 1975 in San
Diego. He won his first National
Championship in 1981. While racing in
District 19, he consistently finished in
the top 10 of District Championship
Awards. Robert's love and dedication for the sport, loyalty to local club, district, and
generous support of other boaters made him a recognized leader. He blends
sportsmanship with family values while promoting model boating and making
friendships.
During his eight years as District 20 Director, Robert expanded the District
stimulating model boat clubs in Wyoming and Northern Utah. The Salt Lake City
Decker Dunkers became so motivated they agreed to host the 2013 NAMBA Nitro and
Gas Nationals. Robert has served as NAMBA Nationals Director for the 2000 and
2008 Nationals conducted at Greeley, Colorado and the 2010 NAMBA FE Nationals
also held at Greeley.
