NAMBA INTERNATIONAL PROPWASH
VOLUME 42, NUMBER 1 APRIL 2012
President’s Message
By Al Waters
NAMBA President
Welcome everyone to 2012. Since the last
Propwash
in October of 2011 we have
voted for the offices of NAMBA President, NAMBA Vice President, and District
Directors of the odd numbered districts. I am returning as President for a fourth
consecutive two year term. However we do have some new faces on the NAMBA
board.
Robert Holland, who is the current District 20 Director has been elected NAMBA
Vice President. Dennis Probst Jr. has been appointed to take over as District One
Director. Marv Erbesfeld will continue as District Three Director and Carlo
Catalanotto will continue as District Five Director. District Seven has a newly elected
director in Jerry Wright and the same for District Nine with Jim Piazza. Rags Grenier
will continue for another term in District 11 where the 2012 NAMBA Nationals for
Nitro and Gas will be held in July, as well as Rey Medina in District 13. In covering
the last of the odd numbered districts, Ted McKay was elected as the new District 19
Director.
Earlier this year you should have received by postal mail all rule book updates for
proposals passed in 2011. Those being the Electric P-Limited power specifications,
modifications to the OPC rules, and various cleaning up of items. Also included were
NAMBA Nationals rules for district team points, the addition of Gas Marathon rules,
and nitro engine displacement size for the X class. Be sure to read them and insert in
your current rule book so that you are up to date.
In this issue of the
Propwash
there are also proposals to be voted on by the
membership. They include a strut proposal for the nitro sport boats and the Gas Scale
Unlimited Hydroplane class submitted by District Eight. District 19 has submitted gas
rule proposals for Jersey Skiff and Crackerbox. Please read the proposals and
participate in the voting process. That is your right as a NAMBA member, and you
should exercise that right.
There has also been another vote among the members of District 9 and 20. It is to
realign the geographic areas between the two districts. This proposal, which did pass,
will move the Northern Utah area over to District 20. To do something like this is a
costly and time consuming process so we wanted to be sure that a move like this was
in the best interest of NAMBA. All parties involved have done everything asked of
them so the final vote among the two districts membership was the final step.
