PROPWASH 20 April 2023 Sometimes NAMBA Does Get a Thank You! By Al Waters NAMBA Secretary The Propwash Newsletter comes out twice a year. In reading the Propwash, you can see who, issue after issue contributes articles and pictures. Many are tech articles, insurance articles, safety articles, district race results, NAMBA Nationals, and human interest stories. It would always be nice to see more articles as that is how we find out what is going on in all parts of NAMBA. Recently I received a few pictures by way of text that I just had to put in this Propwash newsletter. I remember way back when Dave Rychalsky, NAMBA History Chairman and I used to have friendly competitions with “ My First” articles in the Propwash. My first boat, my first race, and my first NAMBA Nationals until he trumped me with “My Second Propwash Article”. Many of those articles could be brought back today and still be very entertaining as many of us have forgotten what it was like to be a new boater when we now race with a new boater. Okay! I get it. I am burning up newsletter space because I am running out of articles to edit and this newsletter has to be in multiples of four pages for the printing company. So let me get right to it. NAMBA had printed up quite a few thousand NAMBA stickers a few years a go and all members received them with their membership renewals for a few years. As the inventory started to diminish, the decision was made to give them out to new members only with their new member packet. I occasionally do get requests from members for the stickers so I will mail some out hoping that they will go on their boats or tool boxes. They can also get some from their District Directors while supplies last. While some boaters put them on their boats, or trailers or tool boxes, I have discovered another place or two. The garage refrigerator. A place where one works on their boats or ends up going to after a long drive home from a race weekend. But what do you do if your refrigerator is full of stickers from so many races? The Crowther boys from Seaducer Boats, Noah and Gavin have figured it out. They hold them and have their picture taken. How could I say no to that. I could not. So thank you very much boys for sending me the pictures with a “Thank You” coming from you also! It makes this job worth it.
