I used a sharpened 3/32 rod to carefully help create space for the wire bundles. It’s easy to scrape off the insulation so don’t force things. Wind complete – input end So how does this wind compare to the stock wind and the test wind? I got a coil resistance of .012 ohms compared to .014 to .015 ohms for the stock 2030 motor. The KV was a little lower at 1910 compared to 1978. A zero load full throttle current was 3.4 amps compared to 3.6 amps for the stock motor. Those currents were the battery input to a low cost ESC. The stock AquaCraft 2030 no load currents are around 2.2 amps through a Castle ESC. All except the KV was a little better, but not amazing. The real advantage of rewinding will come with a completely different wind. In the next part we will look at some more exciting possibilities.
