PROPWASH October 2022 13 There’s still work to be done, but to see where these NAMBA members started and to where the system is today is truly amazing! As of today, they have sold eighty transponder units with the majority in District 19, however many have been sold to members in District 20 and District 7. Over the past few years in District 19, I have seen the c reation of tools and processes that are designed to level the playing field for all and to assist our Contest Directors. The evolution of the transponder system and tools like the “Clean Start Window” will make it easier for us make the correct calls as they happen. As we as know, it’s not an easy job to CD a race and there’s not a line of people wanting to do it. I am hoping that these aids will change that. With our last event of the year being our Year-end Meeting and Banquet December 10th in Laughlin, Nevada, I look forward to seeing everyone at our meeting as we discuss, pass rules, and finalize our 2023 racing season. Our banquet will be something to look forward to as we crown our season district champions while we enjoy dinner and drinks with friends and family. Hopefully I can talk Russ into hosting our gift giving event as its always one of the highlights of the night. This year we will being doing something special that you won’t want to miss. I started this article by saying Thank You. I would like to close by saying Thank You to all of you that make our district what it is today. From the weekend warriors that are at the pond enjoying their boats and friendships to those that work hard putting together local races, hosting district races, traveling to the races and all those in between. THANK YOU! See you at the pond, District Director Elections This year, even numbered NAMBA districts vote for a District Director and one nomination for one district director was submitted. That person is Mike Mullarkey who will run unopposed. There will be an election for the District 20 members requesting a vote of confidence. They will be notified by secure e-mail through the NAMBA Membership Portal. These past 12 months we have been working on many projects from the “Arrive and Drive” program in District 20 as well as the Facebook Target Marketing program that David Santistevan has been working on. Gaining new members from other hobbies is exciting as they are very egger to get involved in the fun run days as well as the race days. With the hobby community wanting to get out and play, we are seeing a huge success in these target marketing campaigns. I have always enjoyed serving NAMBA and look forward to serving for many years to come.
