You will not want to miss the unique location of the Welcome Party and special raffle that will occur for two special prizes that you’ve never experienced before at any NAMBA Nationals event. It will be a party for sure including live music. The event begins Saturday October 15th and runs through Saturday October 22nd with a break in the middle on Wednesday. This day will allow our guests to enjoy this most unique destination for a NAMBA Nationals by visiting Cannery Row in Monterey, the Monterey Aquarium, one of the many beautiful and scenic golf courses, 17 Mile Drive, fishing and whale watching, a visit to the boardwalk and amusement on the oceanfront of Santa Cruz, or just sitting on the beach at the host hotel. There are many, many sightseeing options at one of the premier locations in North America and one of the most scenic areas of the word. I’m so lucky to live here and can’t wait for everyone to get here and enjoy the weather, the racing, the friends, and the food. It’s going to be great! It’s a history of racing excellence with new stories to be written in 2022. We hope to see everyone at this event because it’s going to be a smash! 2022 50th Anniversary NAMBA Nationals at Seaside, California By Bob Tuttle Central Coast Model Boaters As we pass through winter into spring, projects on the bench are almost completed and we are making plans to start racing again. This promises to be an outstanding year of NAMBA racing. The 2021 NAMBA Nationals was an amazing 50 year celebration of NAMBA’s Nationals. Here on the Central Coast of California ,we are preparing for an over-the-top event in October as our club and NAMBA District 9 will host the 50th Anniversary celebration of NAMBA’s first Nationals Championship event in 1972 at the beautiful mountain water fed Roberts Lake in Seaside. We are hosting a party as well as great RC boat racing at a genuinely unique location that includes the host hotel, Monterey Tides, with amazing ocean views that is a brief seven minute walk from the race site. What a great and memorable banquet it will be to look forward to. Rooms have been blocked at the Monterey Tides host hotel as well as the Hampton Inn on the far side of turn two of the race course. Those rooms are available to book now until September 12th at a special rate by calling the local hotel and using code Model Boats so get those reservations in! We will also be providing information about other area accommodations including RV sites soon.
