NAMBATo Host 50 th NAMBA Nationals in 2021 By Alan Hobbs NAMBA President The Committee of Steve Lopez, Tracy Osborne, Richard Romero, Al Waters and I have been busy the past several months preparing for NAMBA’s 50th National Championships. This very special event will be held September 18 through September 25, 2021 at Legg Lake. Legg Lake has been the site of many NAMBA Nationals and is the natural choice for our 50th. We have reserved a block of rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn and the Home 2 Suites in Montebello, California. These hotels are less than a ten minute drive to Legg Lake. In addition, we have reserved extremely nice facilities next to the hotels for our evening activities. The hotels and evening facilities are in a park like setting, along a championship golf course. You and your families will be surprised that such nice facilities are so near Legg Lake. The 50th NAMBA Nationals will be much more than a week of racing. The social events will be just as important as the racing itself. Speaking of racing, the awards have been especially selected to reflect the NAMBA Nats of all time. The committee has spent a lot of time reviewing high quality awards and has selected truly amazing trophies for first, second and third place finishers. There will be Fast Electric, Gas and Nitro classes offered. I am sure that you will find your favorite classes available. Expect a lot of items available; special NAMBA 50th souvenirs, special T-Shirts and hats, and a remarkable raffle. Many memories will be shared and the younger NAMBA members will learn about how NAMBA began and who it was that got NAMBA going. Hopefully many of the NAMBA members who no longer are racing will attend the social events to help us celebrate 50 years of NAMBA National Championships. I look forward to seeing many old friends who have retired from racing. Because this will be such a special event, we will require everyone to enter earlier than normal. We should have all the information out by spring of 2021 and we will stop taking entries sometime in July. We do anticipate a large number of racers and social participants.
