Once again the young guns up here in the Northeast at District 1 brought home the hardware! This years banquet was held at Arthurs Steak House in New Brunswick, New Jersey. It is a fun time of the year to hold an indoor event because hey, lets face it, the lakes are frozen and the steaks are hot! Arthur’s is the same place we have been going to for years so I guess it has become our tradition. I say this because I don’t want the NAMBA office to think I am reusing the same pictures from last year! We also had a special presentation to Bryan Mullen from the guys he has helped build motors over the last few seasons. Bryan was presented with a brand new Conquest with a carbon fiber inlay. A great gift for a great guy. Thanks again Bryan Mullen! In closing I would like to wish you all a great 2018 season. I hope this message finds you well. I found myself with more time on my hands in between work projects so I decided to tackle an Inline .46 marine engine in my spare time. Once I had it assembled I tested it on the bench and it showed promise. So I decided to take it one step further. Next I built an inline Twin .65 using an OS Max. What a beast this turned out to be. It took me about a year to complete working on it a few hours a day or week. It wasn’t difficult for me at all. It just took time to do. This engine was only tested on the bench but it did run steady and strong. It was quite satisfying to see something I built actually work. I suppose it’s that way with anything I guess. Maybe one of these days I will fit it into a boat to see what it can really do, but until then It will just sit on my work bench looking pretty.
