District 19 Hosts 2017 NAMBA Nationals By Richard Romero District 19 Director District 19 is proud to be hosting the first ever Nitro, FE and Gas Nationals held in the month October. We hope to put on one of the best Nationals ever! The fun will begin October 21st- 28th, 2017 at Sunset Park in Las Vegas, Nevada. Friday October 20th will be open water and permanent trailer setup. We will have a set open water schedule for each of the power disciplines to test on Friday. There will be open water at the end of race day and it will be limited to the classes racing the following day. If time permits we will open testing to all classes. The lake is open to test on Thursday the 19th, however, no trailers will be allowed on the grass for any reason. For those of you are interested in setting NAMBA Heat Racing Records, here is a heads up. The course will have a diameter of 70 feet and the straights will be 330.04 feet long. Six laps to equal one mile. District 19, with some help from sponsors will be providing ice every race day. We also have some great times planned for you all. Our Welcome Party will be put on with help of Outlaw Racing. If you have ever been to a World Cup in Las Vegas, you know it will be top notch. We have Team Ed’s Mixer on the schedule and of course the paddle boat races, BBQ and Scale / Thunderboat judging to be held at the host hotel. We are excited to be offering Sportsman Mono at this year’s Nationals. It’s a class that was introduced in District 19 a few years ago and has grown year after year. This class has provided racers of all ages and experience a level playing field and has truly become a driver’s class. If you plan on entering here are the class rules: Sportsman Mono Rules: 1. Hull Specifications: The hull will conform to current NAMBA Gas Mono standards and may be of either wood or composite construction. 2. Engine Specifications: a. Engines will be a Zenoah G260 PUM. The engine may run a stock 257 carburetor or stock WT-1027 (racing carb). No internal modifications are allowed. All replacement parts must be from the original manufacturer and the same type engine (Zenoah 260 to Zenoah 260). No part swapping from other manufacturers or engine types is permitted. b. NGK CMR7H Spark Plug is allowed. c. Zenoah GR26099 Starter Kit will be allowed. The pulley (part # 848-ESZ-7520) of the EZ pull starter may be modified for the purpose of not using the spacers (part # 848-8Y4-6100).
