Maker Faire 2014

We had a fantastic event on May
17-18, 2014 at the Maker Faire in San
Mateo, California. NAMBA Combat
members from all over District 9
attended. Roger Hooks, long time
District 9 boat racer displayed several of
his R/C race boats in the NAMBA tent.
An estimated 15,000 people came
through our exhibit space and got "up
close and personal" with the many types
of R/C watercraft on display including
warships, sail boats, submarines and
race boats.
A special thanks go to Western
Warship Combat Club members Joe
Moore, John Fox and Jeff Krolik who
were our anchor "go-to-guys" for
virtually everything. Also a big hug to
Bevy Hansen, who kept the safety
glasses (1,200 of them) flowing in and
out of the arena for each of the ten
shows.
An extra special thanks to WWCC
member Elaine Murphy for providing
non stop audio and IT services (not to
mention great sandwiches) for the entire
event.
And an extra special thanks to John
Blackburn without whom we would not
have had ice, doughnuts, water, cookies
and hot coffee in the mornings. Not to
mention that he took photos of
absolutely everything.
