30 LADY IN HEAT RACING A llie, daughter of Allen and Brenda is a second generation boat racer. With that she is no stranger to ac- complishments in boat racing and outside of it. She was star volleyball player in HS and college and is now competes in Judo competitions so when we asked her about her favorite boating accom- plishments she rattled o a few. “My best accomplish- ment in is when I won my rst National Championship and then of course my recent National Record with a 1:04 in G1 Hydro. I was so dialed in on the run. It was amazing. But when I think of the most sentimental this comes to mind. We were in Utah and I had a pretty good race day but in the last heat I pretty much destroyed my boat. My Dad also had a good race day so we were both in the hunt for the championship. After I wrecked my boat I saw my Dad was taking his boat apart. I asked him what he was doing and he said I need to take my boat part apart to x yours. It was with no hesi- tation that he put me before himself. Well he got my boat to- gether and I ended up winning my rst national championship. I still get teary eyed thinking about that moment.” We asked Allie about this year’s nats and she shared, “I’ve really been looking forward to this year’s nats... Being by the ocean. .. Somewhere that close to home but still feels like vacation... I set a new record this year I can’t wait to see how far that takes me at this year’s event. . And Finally, Allie left us with this, “After giving it some thought, If you ask me what advice I’’d up and coming lady boaters I’d say Don’t Stop. Don’t listen to what any body says... how dirty it is... If you enjoy it, don’t listen to it. It’s not just a guys sport. There’s a long histo- ry of top competing women so if you wanna race then just race.”
