 Ralph Henry has won the most championships with a total of 33. His first was in 1974 and his last in 1998.

 Ralph Henry and Russ Stark are tied for having won at the most individual Nationals to date. The total is currently at 14, but they have some close competition for holding on to that record as Lenny Blake is right behind them winning at 13.

 Jerry Dunlap has the longest stretch between his first championship and his latest with a span of 33 years separating them. His first was in 1997 and his last was in 2009.

 Russ Stark has the longest stretch of winning at continuous Nationals, at 13 years in a row. His winning spree ran from 1997 through 2009. Unfortunately he didn’t win anything in 2010 and is now having to start over.

 Doug DeWitte has won the most championships in one year with a total of seven in 2000. The championships ran the whole range, winning both nitro and gas classes, along with mono, hydro, and sport type boats.

 There were approximately 140 contestants entered in the first NAMBA Nationals back in 1972, with approximately 300 boats (almost 400 if you count the straightway and sail entries which we don’t run any longer at the Nationals). This year we have a total of 125 contestants, with over 700 boats entered. (So less people but more boats - I guess that means we’re all just a bit crazier then we were back then.)

 Of the original attendees in 1972 five are entered in this year’s event: Dave Bestpitch, Don Ast, Jerry Dunlap, Leonard Feedback, and Richard Fish Sr. A total of twelve are still NAMBA members today - besides those already mentioned we have: Chuck McGaughy, Dan Ast, Jay Selby, Joe Kaanapu, Marchsall Mizobe, Russ Kominitsky, and WC Young.

 We’ve had a total of 8 presidents over the last 40 years: Gary Johnson (1971-1973, 1987-1989), Al Metelak (1974-1980), Stuart Russell (1981-1984), Wally Stewart (1985-1987), Jim Henry (1989-1991), Douglas Twaits Sr. (1991-1993), Alan Hobbs (1993-2005), and Al Waters (2005-present). Alan Hobbs holds the record for serving the longest at 12 year or 6 terms.
